Dear July….

Come on in, Sit on down, and Shut the F*uck up. June gave us more than enough trouble and there for I expect NONE out of you!

But in all seriousness, while our outside world seemed to be in utter turmoil between COVID-19, Fights against Racism, Riots in the US, and more, I’ve been re-focusing my time and directing it towards building up myself and those around me, as well as building my business into something to truly be proud of!

We’ve been playing chicken with the weather in an attempt to get a couple sessions completed, but we’ve also been blessed with perfect days at other times to make some beautiful magic happen! Here are a few highlights from my sessions in June…..

June saw a collaborative shoot between myself and Spruce Grove clothing designer Casey-Ann Larsen of Louilla 1916. Casey-Ann and I worked together to create some bright and airy shots for her clothing outfits website, and also played with some special lighting and creating some dark and moody gown shots as well!

June also saw some of my Gratitude Sessions start to get fulfilled. Sydney Brown of Pulse Therapy PEMF and I had an absolute blast with our grad themed shoot, complete with a classic big poofy ball gown style dress, as well as a stunning sleek curve hugging number to die for! Of course with her horse Metallic Player taking the roll as her leading man. We closed our session with some fun western fashion photos and I really can’t WAIT to complete some more edits from this session and share them with you all!

Lastly, I made the 3 hour trip south to Olds, Alberta to complete two Business Branding shoots for a couple of amazing gals, and Alberta Makers. Amanda Wunsch of Running Man Halters creates stunning Mule Tape halters for horses, accessorizing with beaded as well as tooled and painted leather details. Her radiant mum Angela Look is the brains behind Rose Point Farms where her gorgeous hand made picture frames, buckle displays, mirrors, and more, can be found in homes across Alberta and beyond! I can’t to place my custom order with her!

July is shaping up to be just as, if not, busier than June. The ACHA is back in gear with the first show of the season taking place July 3-5 and I can’t WAIT to be back shooting at my favorite sand-box! I also have a trip to the Coast planned, where I aim to get some friends and family time in, as well as a few sessions booked, before heading back to Stavely Alberta to shoot a Cattle Drive! (Oh how I have been dreaming of this day!)  I’ve also got no less than a half dozen or so portrait sessions to fit in between rain storms.  (It’s been an incredibly wet spring and early summer here in Central as well as Southern Alberta… I feel like I’m back home on the Coast!)  And while there are moments where I feel run off my feet and like I can’t possibly keep up, there are other moments where I couldn’t be happier and more proud to be able to do what I love.

So here’s to hoping June goes out like a Lion and July comes in like a Lamb! Because we’ve all got too much living to do for the state of our world and it’s current affairs to take the rest of 2020 sitting down!

Love and Light,
